Saturday Breakfast Show: Breast Cancer Awareness show
Podcast Episode Link: 🎧 Listen Here
This Saturday from 9am – 11am, join Tipsy live on Radio Africana for an important conversation about breast cancer awareness, risk, and prevention.
Our special guest is Dr. Sacha Howell, Consultant Medical Oncologist in Greater Manchester. Dr. Howell leads the Breast Cancer Risk Prediction and Prevention Service at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and is at the forefront of groundbreaking research.
On the show, Dr. Howell will introduce the Breast Density Community Project, a new initiative exploring how breast density can help identify young women who may be at higher risk of breast cancer. By understanding these risks earlier, the project aims to give more women the chance to survive breast cancer in the future.
The project is currently seeking women aged 30 – 49 to share their thoughts on Mi~Scan®, an experimental breast density scanner. Breast density plays a key role in assessing breast cancer risk, and this study hopes to improve early detection. While women from all backgrounds are welcome, the project especially encourages participation from women of Black African and Black Caribbean heritage, communities often underrepresented in medical research.
👉 Gift vouchers are available for participants.

This episode is not just about awareness – it’s about empowerment, prevention, and saving lives. Whether you are directly affected by breast cancer, have loved ones impacted, or simply want to understand more about women’s health, this conversation is one you shouldn’t miss.
